Shore Patrol: 95-year-old runs a tight ship in Queen Mary amateur radio room. Nate Brightman is in charge of the amateur radio station on the Queen Mary. Brightman, who turns 95 on Tuesday, was the inspiration for putting a radio room on the iconic ship.

In an article on new state laws, the Hartford Courant reports that licensed ham radio operators are now exempt from the ban on using hand-held mobile devices while driving. Perhaps if you’re fighting this battle in your state, you could contact the CT section manager for more information.
